Welcome to Lavonna Peterson Early Childhood Schools

Important announcement: Spring is here! The children will again be able to spend time outside, once in the morning and once in the afternoon. Please be sure to label coats, hats, and sweaters with your child's name so teachers can assist in keeping track of them. Also, tennis shoes are the safest type of footwear for children to wear for outdoor play. Thank you!

The philosophy of Lavonna Peterson Early Childhood Schools is based on that of Maria Montessori as she developed her Children's Houses; placing emphasis on what she referred to as the "triad": the individual child, the prepared environment, and the teacher as the observer and a director. "Children Learn What They Live"
If a child lives with Criticism,
      He learns to Condemn.
If a child lives with Hostility,
      He learns to Fight.
If a child lives with Ridicule,
      He learns to be Shy.
If a child lives with Jealousy,
      He learns to feel Guilty.
If a child lives with Tolerance,
      He learns to be patient.
If a child lives with Encouragement,
      He learns to Confide.
If a child lives with Praise,
      He learns to Appreciate.
If a child lives with Fairness,
      He learns Justice.
If a child lives with Security,
      He learns to have Faith.
If a child lives with Approval,
      He learns to like himself.
If a child lives with Acceptance and Friendship,
He learns to find Love in the world.
