Spring will soon be here. The children will again be able to spend time outside, once in the mornings and once in the afternoons. Please be sure to label their coats, hats, sweaters, and gloves with their names so that the teachers can assist them in keeping track of them. Also, tennis shoes are the safest type of footwear for children to wear for outdoor play. We will soon be replacing carpets in several rooms. This work will be completed mostly on weekends. We are attempting to wait until the bad weather is over before beginning the work.
The philosophy of Lavonna Peterson Early Childhood Schools is based on that of Maria Montessori as she developed her Children's
Houses; placing emphasis on what she referred to as the "triad":
the individual child, the prepared environment, and the teacher
as the observer and a director. Read more about Montessori philosophy
